

This is a different type of rocket. If you look closely at the picture, each of the pink bands in the body tube is a separation point. You have the nose cone, fin can, and then 6 pieces of body tube.
Upon motor ejection instead of popping out a parachute the rocket separates on a long cord into many pieces and uses wind drag to slow it's descent down for recovery.
It's all plastic and rather tough so it can take a bit of a hard landing and the idea seems to work ok.
Except for the fact that the supplied Estes cord burns through to easily, after two fights ours separated, all parts were recovered and we will replace the cord with a Kevlar cord and shouldn't have any more problems with that.
