I had been eyeing this one for a while on eBay as they're no longer in production. I liked the look of the bird and the different design.
Instead of ejecting the parachute out the top of the body tube, this one ejects the parachute from the rear, the nosecone is permanately attached and the motor mount actually ejects out the back to release the parachute.
After building it and flying it we found that it works ok however it was underpowered on stock 18mm motors, and didn't seem quite as reliable as out the top ejection of the parachute.
Soooo

We acquired another, this one was painted in blue to easily differentiate between the two and we made some modifications. A 24mm motor mount was permanately installed and ejection is the typical out of the top of the body tube for the parachute.
Much nicer flights with 24mm motors, although we like them both.
Built 5-12-02 and 6-11-03
Diameter1.64", Length 27.8", and Weight 4.7 oz. 18mm motors in stock configuration, but modifies to 24 mm motors nicely. Parachute recovery.
